July 16, 17 & 18, 2009 ~ Anasazi State Park ~ Boulder, Utah

2009 Theme: "Ranching"

2008 "School Days"
The first school was organized in 1896 and was housed in Sam Sheffield's one room log cabin. The new school burned down in 1935. The replacement school, currently the Boulder Town Hall, was built in 1935. Students moved into the current Boulder Elementary in 1996.
Being a student in Boulder included not only the academic and social but was also a great adventure. One student commented that, for his Dad, a horse was the school bus, for another it was the back of a truck even in winter. The school bus will always include memories of either Doyle Moosman or Vard Coombs.
School also included recess on the School House Ledge or field trips down the Escalante Canyons. It meant that you might spend years in the classroom with your younger sister or brother and you most likely had a classmate that was a LeFevre, a Lyman, a Coleman or a Coombs. It included teachers like Sue Fullmer, Sue Bassett, Miss Anne, Rose Peterson, Jean Hansen or Nethella.
You learned from the older kids, helped the younger kids and played with everyone.
